--Collecting the uncompleted "The Freebooters" stories from the much-missed mid-90's Dark Horse oversized series Barry Windsor-Smith: Storyteller. BWS never got to finish the story, but he provides as much as he'd created, along with tons of commentary, and it adds up to 80 more pages of sequential art. BWS:S was a groundbreaking series that pushed the boundaries of the medium, and was promptly rewarded by disappearing in a controversial move (debated in some of the notes inside). The "Young Gods" serial was collected last year and a similar volume compiling the third serial, "The Paradoxman," is expected next year. Well worth making a part of any comics afficionado's personal collection.

Vertigo has a new burst of new titles coming up, including this one, Testament and DMZ that harken back to the recent launches of Y: The Last Man and Fables. Hopefully, we can get a couple more gems out of these new books. This one looks gorgeous, and under the mature Vertigo label, should deliver on good Deadwood inspired action.
