Damned Consultants!

It feels like those damned consultants really have taken over the strip (http://www.rwtpv2.com/strips/current.php)! I've got to regain control of my own web strip! Do it for the children, Jason! The children!

Now I've got to write that damned column (http://www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com/punches/index.htm). Last week's column (at the prior link until the new one goes up sometime tomorrow) stirred up a bit more controversy than anticipated. Tells me people are reading it, and isn't that why I do it? Otherwise it'd just be me sitting on the toilet spouting off to the toilet paper roll. Look for fallout over the next week or two. :)

Up and Running...

Miss me? Man, I'm trying to get those Hues Prevues for April shipping comics finished but it's so hard what with the strip revamp and the column...

But these things are going well. Well, I get zero feedback on the strip for the most part, but people are reading it and really, what more can I ask. That strip is here: http://www.rwtpv2.com

And the column's return has been unexpectedly fun. Three columns in and I've already got some of the subjects of my satire talking to me about it. Look for follow-up interviews coming down the pike as a direct result of the column. That column is here: http://www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com/punches/index.htm

I was hoping to be more volatile and really get people talking this time around, and it appears that this, at least, is working! No holds barred, this time around. Satire at its wickedest. And I have a message board there if anyone wants to get in on the action and tell me how much I suck. I wouldn't sling it this hard if I couldn't take it in return...

X-Boy?

My son currently reads (or has help reading) all of the Johnny DC titles and many of the Marvel Age titles and Disney titles, etc. etc. etc. He recently told me that it would be really nice if he could get an X-Men comic as he likes Wolverine (has the lunchbox and everything). Now my son is five and has never read an X-Men comic.

I have spent the last month scouring the X-titles and solicitations and for the life of me I can't find an X-Men title that I could comfortably let him read. Is it just me or is there a fundamental problem with this. They're either too mature in content or too steeped in continuity or too dark. Even Ultimate X-Men isn't exactly the light, airy fun that Marvel Age: Spider-Man and the like is. In fact, the Ultimate universe is darker than ever. Why isn't there a Marvel Age/Adventures book for the X-Men? What the hell? There are 29-odd ongoing X-related titles and not a single damned all-ages X-Book. And Jubilee doesn't count and is a mini anyway.

He doesn't want Jubilee. He wants Wolverine and all the other classic cool X-Men he knows from cartoons and toys and coloring books and everywhere but in the medium they originated. Think about it.

The Rolling Trinity (Details Inside).

What? What's that? Only the greatest thing to ever happen to anyone every (and that means YOU!).

Rolling With The Punches is a force of nature, and now the Trinity is complete.

In the Name of the Column, the Strip and the Daily Blog! That's right, premiering today (whenever they get around to uploading it)... it's the return of the original "Rolling With The Punches." What started as a column begat a web strip begat this blog and now we turn full circle and bring back the column. All the insanity and inanity you remember the first time around.

So now you know where I've been, but you don't know the WHOLE story. RWTPv2: The Comic Strip has been ravamped too. Watch as we discover our new voice and look and direction and everything every MWF at www.rwtpv2.com

Thanks!
