A great idea in that this is a big fat book filled with 8 page previews of upcoming comics along with various articles and interviews. Now of only they could get some more diversity in what they preview we’d really be onto something. Still, for two bucks, if you are a fan of comics and want to expand your horizons but don’t want to risk the three to three and a half dollar cover prices of most new series, you could do a lot worse than two bucks for the chance to sample a plethora of them!

These things actually make pretty good marketing tools. The only thing they could do better is to pick up where Comic Book Digest falls short and do more previews of upcoming comics (actual preview pages). It’s amazing how the publishers have forgotten that the books can sell themselves if people can just get a chance to look at them. Mix the hype with actual preview pages in a free or cheap format they’re buying anyway, it can only increase sales.

You know, I really enjoyed this series. This and Demo (last issue out this week!) proved that done-in-one books can be done and with a unifying theme (or reality as is the case here) there can be a larger sense of satisfaction with more issues to go with the satisfaction of each individual piece. Both series ran 12 issues and in both cases, I could enjoy many more stories.
